JOB TITLE: Functional Skills English Lecturer

LOCATION: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

SALARY: £24,898-£31,399 per annum


QRS are working on behalf of Peterborough College and are currently recruiting for an English Lecturer to join the college’s passionate and high performing Functional Skills English team.  This post requires the post holder to deliver Functional Skills English to a range of age groups, mostly those between the ages of 16-18. The successful candidate will join a high performing, supportive team of 35 lecturers who deliver maths and English at Peterborough College. You will need to work well individually as well as part of a team, and you should be passionate about working with learners to develop their skills. We are looking for a hardworking, committed and reliable individual to join the team.  You will be a self-starter, who can quickly develop a good rapport with a variety of people.


The successful candidate will demonstrate the qualities to deliver innovative and creative teaching to those who have not yet achieved their level 2 or GCSE English, within our friendly and diverse FE College.  This is an ideal opportunity for new graduates to develop a career in education, or experienced teachers who will bring knowledge of delivering this subject to a high standard.  A high standard of English is essential, with a Level 3 in English and a Level 2 in maths.

You will be required to work 37 hours a week and the standard working hours for this role are Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm and 8:30am-4:30pm on Friday.
