QRS are currently recruiting on behalf of Inspire Education Group for a permanent Student Welfare and Safeguarding Advisor 

Do you have a passion for helping young people?  Are you a resilient, motivated, approachable person who is keen to support local young people in achieving their goals & dreams?  Student Wellbeing is a key priority for the Inspire Education Group (Peterborough & Stamford College) supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their educational goals.  Peterborough College has an experienced Wellbeing & Safeguarding team who support learners of all ages across sites within the city.

We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Welfare & Safeguarding Advisor to join the team. In this role you will provide welfare support across a variety of areas such as finance, housing and safeguarding for all learners and refer them as appropriate to the relevant agencies in order to remove barriers to learning.

To support the wellbeing of learners in order to help them achieve and progress, additionally complete reviews and reports for vulnerable groups including Young Parents and Children in Care.

The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday.  However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education, experience of working with young people, providing support and dealing with Safeguarding concerns for learners. Knowledge of KCSIE and IAG relating to financial, housing or welfare issues and experience of safeguarding / child protection but this is not essential as the College will support you in achieving this as part of your professional development.

You will be a motivated, self-starter with the highest level of commitment to widening you knowledge of welfare legislation and issues. This is a learner support role and you will have exceptional communication skills both verbally and written, you will be pro-active, resourceful, and resilient with a flexible approach to working practices.
